Call for Participants: Global Youth Health Forum

Greetings!

 

As a side event of the 10th Global Conference of Alliances for Healthy Cities, the 'Global Youth HealthForum' will be held on Friday, September 27th, 

from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Art Hall 1, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP)!

 

The ''Global Youth HealthForum' is a gathering where university students from around the world present and discuss innovative ideas and policies for creating healthy cities.

Those who wish to participate in this program should fill out the attached application form and submit it to the Secretariat (sci@afhc-seoul.kr).

 

We are honored to have a special guest lecture by Dr. Emma Campbell, Executive Director of Medecins Sans Frontieres,

 and the participation of Zahid Hussain & Julian Quintart as moderators.

 

We look forward to your interest and application as we work towards making cities healthier worldwide.

 

Topic (Choose one from the two options below)
1. Community Care and Healthcare Solutions for Healthy Cities 
  -Strategies to promote smart healthcare programs to address health issues among vulnerable populations
  -Methods to enhance the mental health of people through smart wellness programs
  -Approaches to increase active lifestyles among people using smart technology

2. Policy to Create a Sustainable Safe City
  - Strategies for establishing a smart urban environment that is safe from disasters
  - Methods for reducing a city's carbon footprint to smartly address the climate crisis
  - Approaches to ensuring safe food and achieving zero waste using smart technology

★Application Period★
July 29th (Mon) 2024 ~ August 23 (Fri), 2024

Eligible Participants
Team of 3-5 Undergraduate and graduate students from Korean or international universities related to health, wellness, and enviornment etc.
*On-site attendance is preferred

Awards
Session 01 - Seoul Mayor Awards
Session 02 - WHO Awards
-1 Grand Prize, 1 Excellence Prize, 1 Contribution Award per session

Submission Documents 
Application, Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Information, Certificate of Enrollment/Leave of Absence, Presentation PPT (up to 10 slides in English)

Preliminary  
Final Teams: 6 Temas ( 3 teams per session)

Final Round  
- On-site Presentation (up to 2 speakers per team)
  *Each team will have a 5-minute presentation followed by a 7-minute Q&A session
  *Presentations will be conducted in English, while discussions can be held in English or Korean (sequential interpretation provided if needed).
- Determining the award levels based on the highest scores through on-site evaluations
  *judge evaluations (80%) + audience voting (20%)

Crieria
Relevance (30%)
 -Relation of the topic to health, healthcare, and healthy cities
Significance (25%)
 -How the presentation and discussion content can contribute to the fields of healthcare, health, environment, and healthy cities
 -Evaluation of the potential social impact through the detailed policies and directions presented for healthy cities
Completeness (25%)
 -Depth and thoroughness of the presentation and discussion content
 -Provision of new knowledge in the fields of healthcare, health, and environment
Cretivity(20%)
 -Whether the presentation suggests new perspective on policies and directions for healthy cities
 -Provision of new knowledge in the fields of healthcare, health, and enviornment.
